The wind industry is still characterised by a degree of industrial immaturity and is in a similar position to where the automotive industry was 30 years ago. Due to "Local Content" problems and high transport and installation costs, wind turbine manufacturers have to focus on the proximity to their customers and also developing new logistic concepts to compete with coal. Turbine manufacturers and their subcontractors will consequently experience a concentration in the industry and the hunt for talent will, by necessity, become more and more global.
